At launch, the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid will be offered in a single, fully loaded specification for Australia.

The pricing places the Tiggo 9 squarely in the upper mid-size SUV segment, while offering standard equipment levels typically associated with significantly more expensive vehicles.

Chery has also announced a limited pre-order incentive for early buyers ahead of its November arrival.

Drivetrain and Efficiency

Under the bonnet, the Tiggo 9 uses Chery’s most sophisticated plug-in hybrid system to date.

At its core is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, paired with three electric motors — two at the front axle and one at the rear — creating a true electric all-wheel-drive system without a traditional mechanical connection between axles.

The electric range figure is particularly notable for a seven-seat SUV of this size, allowing many daily commutes to be completed without using any petrol at all.
