Nissan Australia has announced a major mid-cycle range expansion for its best-selling medium SUV, introducing a new adventure-styled X-Trail Rock Creek flagship alongside more affordable front-wheel-drive e-Power hybrid variants. Both additions are scheduled to land in Australian showrooms in September 2026.

Meanwhile, the arrival of 2WD e-Power variants addresses strong consumer demand in the electrified mid-size SUV segment, taking aim at volume leaders like the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5.

X-Trail Rock Creek: Rugged Styling Meets 7-Seat Practicality

Priced from $48,315 before on-road costs, the X-Trail Rock Creek commands a $2,435 premium over the seven-seat petrol ST-L AWD on which it is based.

Visually, the Rock Creek is distinguished by:

• A bespoke gloss-black V-motion grille with a heritage 'three-slot' horizontal upper design inspired by the classic Nissan D21 Hardbody ute.
• Gloss-black roof rails, mirror caps, and a revised lower front bumper.
• Anodised orange accents across the front/rear Nissan badges, tailgate lettering, and a single contrast-painted spoke on each 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheel.
• An exclusive two-tone Baja Storm exterior finish paired with a black roof ($1,495 option).

Inside, the cabin features water-resistant ballistic nylon and leather-accented seat upholstery with embroidered Rock Creek logos, orange contrast stitching across the dashboard, and an orange steering wheel badge.

Tech upgrades over the donor ST-L grade include a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster (replacing the standard 7.0-inch screen) and a 10.8-inch colour Head-Up Display (HUD). These join standard ST-L equipment such as 10-way power heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a 360-degree Around View Monitor.

Nissan has doubled its electrified offering from three to six variants by introducing front-wheel-drive versions of the ST-L, Ti, and Ti-L e-Power.

However, under the Nissan MORE program, owners who maintain scheduled logbook servicing exclusively through an authorised Nissan dealership unlock an extended 10-year / 300,000km factory warranty and up to 10 years of roadside assistance.

Scheduled logbook servicing is capped at a flat $399 per service for the first five years or five services.
