Existing owners are unaffected by the change, with vehicle contracts executed on or before September 30, 2026, retaining the $199 rate agreed upon at the time of purchase.

Honda Australia has increased capped-price servicing costs by 40 per cent across its entire petrol and hybrid line-up for new vehicles purchased from October 1, 2026. However, the brand’s newly introduced Super-One electric hatchback has been exempted from the price hike, making it the most affordable vehicle to maintain in the Japanese automaker's local range.
Under the revised "Honda Low Price Service" schedule, the cost per scheduled service for the Civic, Civic Type R, Accord, Prelude, HR-V, ZR-V, and the flagship CR-V mid-size SUV rises from $199 to $279 per visit. Across the standard five-year or 75,000km capped-price period, total scheduled servicing expenses now climb from $995 to $1,395—a direct $400 increase for new buyers.

Ownership Costs and Market Context
The latest adjustment marks the second substantial maintenance increase since Honda Australia abandoned the traditional franchised dealership network in July 2021 to adopt a fixed-price agency retail model. At launch in 2021, Honda anchored its agency model with ultra-low $125 capped services. That figure climbed by nearly 60 per cent to $199 in October 2022, before reaching the current $279 rate—more than double its original 2021 cost.
The 40 per cent rise strips Honda of its long-standing marketing claim of fielding the most affordable fixed-price scheduled servicing in Australia for petrol and hybrid vehicles. By comparison, Toyota's high-volume passenger and small SUV models (including the Yaris, Corolla, Camry, Yaris Cross, Corolla Cross, and C-HR) are capped between $265 and $275 per visit over the first five years. Meanwhile, prestige marques such as Genesis include five years or 130,000km of complimentary scheduled servicing.
In contrast, the pint-sized Honda Super-One electric vehicle remains capped at $199 per visit ($995 over five years), undercutting key electric alternatives. The BYD Atto 1 costs between $200 and $527 per service ($1,528 over five years), while the Mini Cooper E costs $1,202 across a four-year service package.
