Nissan has revealed the critical utility and interior dimensions for the all-new 2027 Nissan Patrol Y63, confirming a major boost in cargo space and a class-leading 3,700kg braked towing capacity.

Scheduled for first Australian customer deliveries in the first quarter of 2027, the next-generation Patrol range expands to six variants, starting from $98,990 before on-road costs. The new model replaces the outgoing V8-powered Y62, introducing a more efficient twin-turbo V6 and advanced cabin technology while directly challenging the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series on price and capability.
Powertrain, Towing, and Real-World Capability
Under the bonnet, the familiar naturally aspirated 5.6-litre V8 has been retired. In its place sits a 3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 producing 317kW of power and 700Nm of torque, paired with a new nine-speed automatic transmission. Official Australian fuel consumption figures (L/100km) are yet to be confirmed.
For touring and caravan buyers, the Y63 Patrol increases its braked towing capacity to a maximum of 3,700kg across the entire range—up 200kg from the outgoing model and surpassing its primary Toyota rival. To support this, Nissan has standardized Trailer Blind Spot Warning and Trailer Sway Control across all grades. The off-road-focused PRO-4X and top-spec Ti-L Reserve further add an integrated electric trailer brake controller and 'Trailer Docking Support', which assists in aligning the tow ball with the trailer coupling.

Interior Dimensions and Cargo Space
Nissan has prioritized interior packaging in the Y63 to address the constraints of the older model. The second row features a new slide function; when pushed fully rearward, it provides up to 250mm more legroom than the Y62.
The third row benefits from a flatter floor and a tilt-and-glide access mechanism that works even with a child seat installed. Occupants in the rear-most seats gain 75mm more hip room, 66mm more knee room, and up to 253mm more legroom when the second row is slid completely forward.
With all three rows in use, the boot holds 577 litres of cargo. Folding the third row expands this to 1,594 litres, while dropping both rear rows yields a maximum capacity of 2,749 litres—a 127-litre increase over the previous generation, creating a near-flat loading space.
