Based on the Avatr 06 sedan, the new wagon will follow the mid-2027 debut of the Avatr 07L SUV.

Changan's premium electric vehicle brand, Avatr, has confirmed the 06T electric sports wagon will be its second model launched in Australia, scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2027.
Avatr executives confirmed the brand is positioning itself directly against German luxury stalwarts such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, while also preparing to rival incoming premium Chinese electric estates like the Zeekr 7GT and Denza Z9 GT.

Powertrain, Battery, and Performance Details
Avatr utilizes battery technology from its major partner, CATL, fitting the 06T exclusively with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. While a plug-in range-extender (EREV) version exists in China, export markets like Australia are expected to receive EV-only configurations.
Overseas specifications reveal highly potent dual- and tri-motor all-wheel-drive systems riding on air suspension. The flagship Performance variant utilizes a tri-motor setup generating up to 712kW of power and 996Nm of torque, yielding a 0–100km/h sprint time of just 2.9 seconds.
Lower-tier versions are equipped with a dual-motor powertrain producing 450kW and 750Nm, with the brand utilizing various battery capacities across the lineup, including 72.9kWh, 83.3kWh, and 87.3kWh packs. Depending on the specification, the 06T claims between 620km and 710km of driving range under the older NEDC testing cycle.

Digital side mirrors display their feeds onto dedicated 6.7-inch screens at each corner of the dashboard. While Chinese domestic models are available with a 25-speaker audio system, export models for Australia are expected to switch to a Meridian-branded premium sound system.

2027 Avatr 06T Australian Pricing
Australian pricing and finalized specifications for the Avatr 06T have not yet been announced. However, the wagon is anticipated to be slightly more affordable than the related 07L SUV. The 06T will launch in European markets first before arriving in Australian showrooms during the second half of 2027. For context, Avatr will open pre-orders for its debut 07L model before the end of 2026.
