2027 Audi A6 allroad Price and Specs: High-Riding Wagon Returns to Australia with First-Ever PHEV

Pricing for the redesigned allroad range starts from $127,900 before on-road costs for the entry-level e-hybrid quattro, representing just a $1,500 increase over the previous diesel-only generation discontinued locally in 2024, despite adding more than $10,000 worth of upgraded standard equipment. The like-for-like 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel TDI quattro commands a $10,000 premium, priced from $137,900 plus on-roads.

The new A6 allroad serves as the first variant of the incoming new-generation A6 family to be confirmed for Australia. It introduces an assertive wide-body stance, stretching 84mm wider than its predecessor with muscular flared arches—a design language expected to preview the forthcoming RS6 Avant.  

Electrified Powertrains: PHEV vs. Mild-Hybrid Turbo-Diesel

Australian buyers are offered two distinct mechanical setups, each mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel drive:

• A6 allroad e-hybrid quattro (270kW/500Nm): Pairs a 2.0-litre TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack (20.7kWh usable). It achieves up to 87km of pure electric driving range. The PHEV utilizes a quattro 'ultra' system that decouples the rear axle during low-load cruising to reduce mechanical drag. Charging is limited strictly to AC at up to 11kW, with no DC fast-charging capability. Home and public AC charging cables are supplied as standard.

• A6 allroad TDI quattro (220kW/580Nm): Powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine with 48V mild-hybrid 'plus' technology. It incorporates a powertrain generator, belt alternator starter, and an electrically powered compressor (EPC) that pre-spools boost pressure to virtually eliminate off-the-line turbo lag.

Advanced Off-Road Chassis and Dimensions

The fifth-generation allroad rides on standard adaptive air suspension developed specifically for varied terrain, providing up to 55mm of ride-height adjustment. In Dynamic mode, the body lowers by 20mm, while Offroad and Offroad+ modes raise clearance by 15mm. A dedicated Lift mode raises ground clearance by 35mm at speeds up to 35km/h, whereas the suspension automatically drops to its lowest aerodynamic setting at speeds above 85km/h. Compared to the regular overseas A6 Avant, ground clearance is increased by 34mm (and 16mm higher than the fourth-generation allroad).

Standard all-wheel steering counter-steers the rear wheels by up to 5.0 degrees below 60km/h, shrinking the turning circle by almost one metre to 11.4 metres, while steering up to 2.0 degrees in phase with the front wheels above 60km/h for elevated highway stability.
