2027 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Slashes $36,000 Off Price Tag Ahead of Australian Launch

General Motors Australia and New Zealand (GM ANZ) has opened order books for the upgraded 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, introducing a significant price reduction and updated interior technology for the track-focused supercar.

Priced from $299,990 before on-road costs, the MY27 Z06 is over $36,000 cheaper than the outgoing model it replaces. Customers can order the vehicle immediately, with production scheduled to commence at GM's Bowling Green Assembly Plant in the United States in January 2027. Delivery timing will depend on individual vehicle specifications and production schedules.

The revised Z06 pricing positions it just $7,000 above the hybrid Corvette E-Ray. All prices exclude on-road costs.

Powertrain and Performance

Unlike the Stingray and E-Ray, which use a 6.2-litre pushrod V8 with a cross-plane crankshaft, the Z06 is powered by a bespoke 5.5-litre naturally aspirated 'LT6' V8. Featuring a flat-plane crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication, and variable valve timing, it revs to an 8,600rpm redline. It remains the most powerful naturally aspirated V8—and the largest flat-plane V8—ever fitted to a production vehicle.

Power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission featuring a Z06-specific final-drive ratio. To manage the performance, the chassis is upgraded over standard Corvettes with Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, an electronic limited-slip differential, six-piston front Brembo performance brakes, and forged aluminium wheels.

For context within the range, the entry-level Stingray produces 369kW and 637Nm, while the all-wheel-drive hybrid E-Ray adds a front-mounted electric motor for a combined 488kW and 806Nm.

Equipment, Technology, and Customization

For the 2027 model year, the Corvette receives a redesigned, three-screen cockpit layout and an updated centre console. The new digital architecture integrates a 14-inch driver information display, a 12.7-inch central touchscreen, and a 6.6-inch auxiliary display. The Performance Data Recorder has been upgraded to offer side-by-side video analysis and automated speed tips, along with dedicated access to Performance Traction Management (PTM) and PTM Pro Mode.
