Zeekr Australia has locked in local launch timing for the 2027 Zeekr 7GT, introducing a dedicated all-electric sports wagon into a local market virtually devoid of direct rivals.

The low-slung shooting brake arrives as Zeekr's fourth local offering, joining the compact X SUV, the 009 luxury MPV, and the mid-size 7X SUV. Notably, while high-end electric wagons like the Porsche Taycan Sport/Cross Turismo and BMW i5 Touring command price tags well north of $200,000, and the upcoming Denza Z9 GT sits in a larger and likely pricier class, the 7GT will carve out a distinct niche in the mainstream-to-premium bracket.

Pricing Outlook and Market Positioning

Official Australian pricing will be announced before the end of 2026, but Zeekr Australia managing director Frank Li confirmed the 7GT will sit between the smaller Zeekr X ($48,900 drive-away) and the 7X SUV ($57,900 to $72,900 before on-road costs).

Reflecting traditional automotive pricing where wagons generally undercut equivalent high-riding SUVs, the 7GT is expected to kick off in the mid-$50,000 bracket. European market indicators point to recommended retail pricing between roughly $53,000 and $66,000 before on-road costs.

Powertrain, Charging, and Real-World Range Logic

Australian-delivered 7GT models will utilise an 800-volt electrical architecture rather than the newer 900-volt system recently introduced for the domestic Chinese market—mirroring the rollout strategy of the 7X SUV.

Despite sharing its platform and battery options with the 7X, the 7GT extracts superior efficiency and range from its sleek shooting brake silhouette, achieving a low drag coefficient of 0.25 Cd.

The base RWD uses a 75kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack paired with a 335kW/520Nm motor, yielding 525km of WLTP range and a claimed 10 to 80 per cent DC fast-charge time of just 11 minutes. The Long Range RWD steps up to a 100kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, pushing WLTP driving range to a class-leading 670km while retaining the same 335kW output. The flagship Performance AWD adds a front electric motor, generating a combined 500kW and 790Nm for a 0–100km/h sprint of 3.1 seconds and 590km of WLTP range. Both 100kWh models support DC fast charging at rates up to 420kW, requiring 15 minutes for a 10–80 per cent replenishment.
