2026 Jaecoo J5 EV confirmed for Australia with $36,990 drive-away launch price

Positioned as a lifestyle-focused electric SUV, the J5 EV will launch in Australia as a single, highly equipped variant, with a strong emphasis on practicality, everyday performance and unique pet-friendly features aimed at modern Australian households.

A special introductory offer will see the first 1000 vehicles priced at $36,990 drive-away, including premium exterior paint.

Pricing

Jaecoo will offer the J5 EV in one specification level at launch.

Drivetrain and Efficiency

The J5 EV is powered by a single permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor, driving the front wheels.

Charging capability includes DC fast charging up to 130kW, allowing a 30–80 per cent charge in approximately 28 minutes, along with AC charging support of up to 10.3kW on three-phase power.

The J5 EV also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, subject to local regulations and accessory availability.

The J5 EV sits in the compact SUV segment, offering five seats and competitive luggage capacity for everyday family use.
