The Seltos adopts an updated version of the 1.6-litre petrol-electric hybrid setup and introduces an electrified all-wheel-drive (e-AWD) option—a first for Hyundai Motor Group hybrids.

Kia Australia has confirmed local pricing and variant structures for the all-new, second-generation 2027 Kia Seltos, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in local showrooms later this month.
Transitioning to an exclusively hybrid powertrain lineup across six variants, the 2027 Seltos range opens from $39,990 drive-away ($37,990 before on-road costs) for the base S HEV FWD. This marks a price-of-entry increase of more than $4,000 compared to the outgoing petrol-only generation in runout, while sitting roughly $4,500 below the entry point of the larger Sportage HEV (which starts from $44,490 drive-away).
In the wider market, the Seltos HEV faces strong competition from the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid (from $37,440 plus on-roads) and Nissan Qashqai e-Power (from $45,850 plus on-roads), as well as aggressively priced Chinese hybrids including the Chery C5 Hybrid ($31,990 D/A), GWM Haval Jolion Hybrid ($32,990 D/A), Jaecoo J5 SHS-H ($34,990 D/A), and MG ZS Hybrid+ ($29,990 D/A).

Powertrain and Localized Australian Chassis Dynamics
Every variant in the 2027 Seltos lineup is powered by an updated 1.6-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (6sp DCT).
- Front-Wheel Drive (FWD): Featured on the S, Sport, Sport+, and front-drive GT-Line, this system generates a combined 113kW of power and 265Nm of torque.
- Electrified All-Wheel Drive (e-AWD): Exclusive to the range-topping GT-Line AWD, this system mounts an additional electric motor directly to the rear axle, raising total system output to approximately 133kW without needing a mechanical driveshaft linking front and rear axles.

To tailor the SUV to local driving environments, Kia Australia has implemented a dedicated ride and handling program. The local package incorporates bespoke spring and damper rates to deliver a firmer, more controlled ride with reduced body roll, matched to a recalibrated steering tune for increased responsiveness.
Notably, Australian-delivered models will not offer the vehicle-to-load (V2L) external power discharge available in some overseas markets, with Kia Australia prioritizing the inclusion of a spare wheel beneath the boot floor.
