The Jaguar Type 01 will be available in Australia priced from approximately $300,000 before on-road. Jaguar Australia has confirmed that order books will open in 2027, with specific details to be announced in due course.

Jaguar has officially unveiled the Type 01, a luxury four-door electric grand tourer that serves as the production realization of the Type 00 concept and spearheads the brand's transition into an exclusive, electric-only marque. The vehicle is designed, engineered, and manufactured in the United Kingdom.

Powertrain, Performance, and Charging

Built on the bespoke Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), the Type 01 utilizes a tri-motor electric powertrain delivering 757kW of power (exceeding 1,000PS) and 1,365Nm of torque. This enables the large grand tourer to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in a claimed 3.2 seconds. The rear-biased all-wheel-drive system can disengage the rear motors when not required to improve efficiency.

Energy is stored in a 118kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack, providing a maximum WLTP driving range of up to 720km, or 643km under the EPA testing standard. The Type 01 features an 850-volt electrical architecture that supports DC fast-charging up to 350kW, which can add 321km of range in 13 minutes. It also incorporates split-charging capability allowing 250kW charging at 400 volts, alongside a 22kW AC charging capacity.

To manage its substantial proportions, the Type 01 features a 50:50 weight distribution and a Dynamic Air Suspension system integrating switchable volume air springs and twin-valve active dampers. The vehicle is equipped with a double-wishbone front and integral link rear suspension setup, all-wheel steering that delivers an 11.5-metre turning circle, and standard Pirelli P Zero tyres.
