Making its public debut at the Everything Electric Sydney show, the battery-electric workhorse gives the Korean brand an immediate contender against the LDV eDeliver 7 and Ford E-Transit Custom in Australia's expanding zero-tailpipe-emissions van market.

Hyundai Australia has finalized the rollout of its updated commercial van range with the launch of the 2027 Hyundai Staria Load Electric, priced from $70,990 before on-road costs.
Fleet buyers and owner-operators face a steep cost-of-entry decision: at $70,990, the Staria Load Electric commands a $21,000 premium over the entry turbo-diesel and sits $17,500 above the recently launched petrol-electric Hybrid.
Unlike the Hybrid, which can be optioned in an upscale Premium grade, the Electric variant is offered exclusively in the standard two-seat commercial specification, available with either a traditional liftback tailgate or dual barn-style twin swing doors at no extra charge.

Powertrain, Commercial Utility, and Real-World Range Logic
Underpinned by Hyundai's dedicated 800-volt E-GMP architecture, the Staria Load Electric is powered by a single front-mounted electric motor delivering 160kW of power and 350Nm of torque. Energy is supplied by an 84kWh high-voltage battery pack.
Official laboratory testing certifies a WLTP driving range of up to 450km, supported by an official energy consumption figure of 20.7kWh/100km. For urban multi-drop delivery routes, the 450km range will cover multi-day metropolitan runs without charging interruption. However, high-speed regional highway cruising with a full cargo load will see consumption increase, reducing real-world highway range below the 400km threshold.
To minimize downtime, the van's 800V system supports DC ultra-fast charging at up to 350kW, allowing a 10 to 80 per cent recharge in 20 minutes under optimal charging conditions. AC charging is assisted by a standard heat pump and battery pre-heating system to protect efficiency in cold weather. A dedicated 3-pin Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) power outlet is integrated directly inside the cargo hold, allowing tradespeople to run power tools, equipment, or mobile work stations directly from the traction battery.
Critically for commercial operators, the battery packaging incurs no penalty on cargo bay volume, matching the diesel and hybrid models at 4,935 litres. The electric model achieves a 1,005kg payload—slightly higher than the diesel's 997kg rating. Braked towing capacity is rated at 2,000kg, trailing the diesel's 2,500kg limit but providing a practical advantage over the Staria Load Hybrid, which carries an unrated (0kg) tow capacity.
