Ford Australia Extends Factory Warranty to Seven Years

Ford Australia has officially upgraded its new-vehicle warranty program from five to seven years with unlimited kms across its entire passenger and commercial lineup, effective for all new and demonstrator vehicles delivered from 1 September 2026.

While several mainstream brands now promote seven- or ten-year headline warranties, Ford’s policy introduces a major commercial differentiator. Unlike key rivals that impose aggressive kms caps or strict exclusions on commercial vehicles, Ford’s seven-year warranty applies to commercial and business operators with completely unlimited kms.

With more than 50 per cent of all Ford vehicles sold in Australia registered under an Australian Business Number (ABN)—spearheaded by the market-leading Ranger ute and Transit van ranges—this provides high-mileage trades and regional fleets with unmatched residual value protection.  

The Fine Print: Dealer Servicing and High-Voltage EV Batteries

To qualify for the full seven-year term, Ford owners must adhere to a specific ownership condition:

• Dealer Network Servicing: The extended coverage is conditional on owners completing all scheduled logbook servicing exclusively within Ford’s 180-strong national dealership network (comprising more than 220 service centres across Australia).
• High-Voltage Traction Batteries: Electric vehicles and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) receive dedicated coverage. The traction battery packs on models such as the incoming Transit City electric van and Bronco Basecamp EREV remain covered by an eight-year or 160,000km warranty (whichever occurs first).

Commercial Ecosystem: Ford Pro Debuts in Australia

Supporting the warranty extension is the local launch of Ford Pro, an integrated fleet management and commercial services ecosystem tailored for trades and fleet operators.

Integrating commercial vehicle sales, specialized body conversions, mobile servicing vans, fleet telematics software, and dedicated business financing under a single umbrella, Ford Pro aims to minimize vehicle downtime for Australian small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).

The program builds directly upon the Ford Pro Convertor accreditation launched in late 2025, certifying third-party engineering firms that manufacture custom service bodies, tipper beds, and heavy-duty trade trays for Ranger and Transit cab-chassis models.
